NANOSURF
- Project duration: 2013-2014
- ITT IMPIVA Program. R&D Projects in cooperation
- Participants: AIMME (coordinator), AIMPLAS, ITC-AICE
The main objective of the Nanosurf project is to detect convergences and apply surface treatments based on nanotechnology:
They were obtained roadmaps and have been selected case studies with practical applications in which it is proposed to use methodologies characteristics of a sector in another, and characterization techniques of surfaces that may be common and useful for the three substrates: XPS, Raman spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction and AFM.
- Project duration: 2013-2015
- Program: Clean-Sky. European Union
- Participants: AIMME, (coordinator), Galvatec, UC3M, Dasault Aviation
The GreenGELAIR project aims industrial application and scaling a new sol-gel coating improves the corrosion resistance and adhesion of the current paint systems used on airplanes.
The sol-gel products are characterized by their excellent characteristics as adhesion promoters and corrosion resistance in paint systems. In addition, they are considered “green” alternative to the current conversion layers chrome.
In this project, both the product develops sol-gel system and its application in-situ for use in aircraft maintenance and manufacturing. The adhesion and corrosion properties of the final product, applied with the new device will be evaluated and compared with current systems painting, for effectiveness on an industrial scale.
IMPLEMENTATION OF SOL-GEL TECHNOLOGY INDUSTRY OF ALUMINIUM
- Project duration: 2014-2015
- AEIS Program of the Ministry of Industry
- Participants: ALSAN, AIMME, VALMETAL
The main objective is the introduction of sol-gel type coating processes anodized aluminum for the construction industry as a replacement for the sealing step. The draft efficiency of sol-gel coatings as partial replacement for anodizing step and removal of the sealing step comparing the results achieved with the features of conventional processes tested.
The challenge of the project is the introduction of a robust and versatile technology such as the sol-gel technology in an industry of great business importance, the sector of anodized aluminum construction.
The innovation is that there is no record of the introduction of the sol-gel technology for this application on an industrial scale or state or globally in this sector, which could provide the anodized aluminum sector for the construction of new finishes aesthetic and functional.
